I would like to state this openly and honestly.. I thought something .. I would like to state this openly and honestly.. I thought something was up when Misery release "DSCRACK.EXE" for PWA, partially because I KNOW he can't crack, and partially because I KNOW he's full of shit, but what bothered me the most was PWA's version didn't have an .EXE header. I'VE NEVER SEEN AN .EXE WITHOUT A HEADER..

9-28-93 Ok, this document is by your old favorite person, The Slavelord. So that made me think there might be something up.. I broke out trusty old FC.EXE and compared the PWA "CRACK" and the PTG Crack. Guess what I found.. Here's a listing of the differences. Comparing files DSUNPTCH.COM and DSCRACK.EXE 0000000C: 54 49 0000000D: 68 73 0000000E: 65 20 0000000F: 20 4E 00000010: 53 6F 00000011: 68 77 00000012: 61 20 00000013: 74 50 00000014: 74 61 00000015: 65 74 00000016: 72 63 00000017: 65 68 00000018: 64 65 00000019: 20 64 0000001A: 4C 20 0000001B: 61 2D 0000001C: 6E 3D 0000001D: 64 50 0000001E: 73 57 0000001F: 20 41 00000020: 69 3D 00000021: 73 2D 00000023: 6E 43 00000024: 6F 72 00000025: 77 61 00000026: 20 63 00000027: 70 6B 00000028: 61 65 00000029: 74 64 0000002A: 63 21 0000002B: 68 21 0000002C: 65 21 0000002D: 64 21 00000031: 52 4D 00000033: 63 73 00000034: 74 65 00000035: 75 72 00000036: 73 79 00000037: 20 2F 00000039: 65 57 0000003A: 72 41 0000003B: 70 20 0000003C: 65 51 0000003D: 74 75 0000003E: 75 61 0000003F: 75 6C 00000040: 6D 69 00000041: 2F 74 00000042: 50 79 00000043: 54 20 00000044: 47 43 00000045: 20 72 00000046: 64 61 00000047: 69 63 00000048: 64 6B 00000049: 20 65 0000004A: 69 72 0000004B: 74 2E 0000004C: 20 2E 0000004D: 61 43 0000004E: 67 69 00000050: 69 6F 00000051: 6E 21 00000055: 41 50 00000056: 74 57 00000057: 68 41 00000058: 6F 2F 00000059: 20 41 0000005A: 4D 74 0000005B: 61 74 0000005C: 64 69 0000005D: 20 74 0000005E: 50 75 0000005F: 6F 64 00000060: 64 65 00000062: 43 27 00000063: 75 39 00000064: 6C 33 00000066: 0D 2E 00000067: 0A 2E The differences are ONLY ASCII Strings. Yes, thats right, ASCII strings. Basically the PWA version says "PWA CRACKED DARKSUN BY MISERY". The actual code for the patch, which begins after segment $67h are IDENTICAL! To the T. The first thing I thought was, Hey, if Misery cracked it, and he KNOWS about cracking, why did he rename a .COM file an .EXE??? But when I did the FC, welllllll... I guess you could say I caught the liar in his footsteps. I will say this once, I will say this once ONLY, Misery cannot crack. ANYONE can use NU to sector edit TEXT. If that's what it takes to be a cracker these days, then my wife will be the next greatest cracker on the PC.. Even when the PWA crack fails it says the SAME exact thing the PTG Version does, "Error: File Not Found". The locations of the text portions and crack code, are ALL identical. We called up Misery, and asked him about the suspicious crack, and he claims that the leaders of PWA "screwed" him over, and put that out under his handle. So to summarize, if you want cracks that work, trust PTG, if you want to use someone else's "CRACK" which may be nothing but a bunch of bogus bullshit, then please feel free to use PWA's. To the leaders of PWA, I highly recommend you kick out your new "Cracker" as he does nothing for your reputation. The Slavelord/PTG '93!
