I don't know how companies can put in such cheesy protections and expect us
not to remove them. This one was a really lame doc check that took me all of
5 minutes to crack completely. By the way, I have given you a copy of the
uncracked .exe in tigers-u.arj.
To see how I did it, check out 11E6:0185. It is the first line of code after
the copy protection CALL. I just set a breakpoint there and when I hit enter,
voila, there I was. So I traced through a little bit and determined that once
you get to 11E6:0217 everything's coolio from there on out. So the basic crack
was real simple - just do the following line of code ..
11E6:0185 JMP 0217
That lets you get by the protection just by pressing enter. But since that
only took me 2 or 3 minutes, I decided that I don't want anyone to have to see
the protection at all .. so I traced back into where the copy protection box
first comes up, and discovered that if I put the same jump at 11E6:0127 that
you can bypass the protection completely.
I didn't write a crack.com for this game because I don't have a pre-made one
written up, and the exe is only 60k or so. Writing one would take me some time
that I'd rather spend doing something else tonight. Anyway if you look at this
game for your own learning then you can see it is not too difficult. Just pay
attention to the jumps and this one's a cinch.
Until next time ..
