DOSee pronounced dos/see, is our emulator used to run MS-DOS based software in your web browser.

MS-DOS (Microsoft DOS) was the primary operating system used by PCs during the 1980s to the early 1990s and is the precursor to Microsoft Windows.

DOSee is a slimmed down, modified port of The Emularity.

The Emularity is a multi-platform JavaScript emulator that supports the running of software for legacy computer platforms in a web browser. It is the same platform that's running emulation on the Internet Archive.

EM-DOSBox is a discontinued, high-performance JavaScript port of DOSBox that is applied by The Emularity for its emulation of the MS-DOS platform.

DOSee uses BrowserFS ZipFS and ZipFS Extras to simulate zip file archives as hard disks within EM-DOSBox.

DOSBox is the most popular MS-DOS emulator in use today and is frequently used by commercial game publishers to run games from their back-catalogues on modern computers.

DOSee, built on The Emularity, EM-DOSBox and DOSBox. Capture screenshot and save function built on canvas-toBlob.js.

At its best, it conveys the qualities of beauty, strength and mystique. It can evoke emotions, create moods, and stimulate human reaction. Of course, in the minds of some people, the coding which we do in this demo would hardly categorise us as traditionalist prastising an old form! We have been asked if this is a 'pop' demo or whether it is a statement about what constitutes new style classical demos. We don't believe that there is an answer or even the need for such a question. Coding good demos on PC has a very high "feel good" factor. We first felt this when we were 8 and we are lucky never to have lost the feeling .Cocoon., (Dreamsteal 2) · release credits · Camel code Beast title picture Dave (member of Explorer) 3ds Lazur gfx Scorpik music Unreal code, gfx Akira 1 ATARI BASIC code line · additional credits · Akira :phones, moral support, ideas, rumours, hurry-up's whinings, a-ha's, noooo's, friendship, ho-ho's cat-support, silence, hahaha's, nocoty's, bierzemygo's whales vectorideas, spaintravels, elks, naaaah's, jasiedzeprzyoknie's,zury, krasnale, badnuz, postmandeath Antony :some background gfx or parts of pictures, credits "function" fonts, etc. Grotesque:the moving things system O'Neill :ascii gravis replayer............................GUSPLAY by Robban/CDA Covox replayer.............................GOLDPLAY by The Codeblasters Greetings must go to our good friend Lord of Absolute! for arranging the title "Cocoon" screen and the other picture that has not been used in this production (both made by Beast of Majic 12 Amiga). Hereby the greetings also fly to Beast - we are truly amazed with his drawing abilities. Be sure to check out our new upcoming production to see fabulous Beast's picture. Main part of gfx for this demo was said to be done by Made, but the french post was striking too long, so we did not receive the letter with the gfx included. It's a real shame. Commenting greetings inside demo - as always we had problem with time inside demo to show the greetings, so we only took few groups. If we put there all groups we know, it would take LOT of time to read it, so check out Bad News #4 greetings section and there are the most up-to-date greetings from us. CD-ROM INFORMATION This demo cannot be put onto any CD-ROM without permission of ours. If you want to put COCOON onto Your CD, please contact: email: [email protected] phone: +48 71 515807 (Wojtek [Unreal]) [............................................. running the demo..............] Cocoon should work with QEMM, although we'd recommend to run it with HIMEM.SYS as only memory configuring thing. To hear the sound, you need either Gravis UltraSound family card (UltraSound, Ace, Max) or a COVOX. ---- FIRST PICTURE IS SHOWN AS LONG AS THE FILES LOAD TO XMS ---- (wait few seconds so the samples can be loaded into GUS mem also!!) If you encounter problems with running Cocoon, here are few advices on that topic. First of all, remove all EMM memory managers like QEMM, EMM386 or alike. Preferable config and autoexec files: CONFIG.SYS AUTOEXEC.BAT DEVICE=C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS SET ULTRASND=260,3,3,7,7 [change those to fit your] FILES=10 SET ULTRADIR=D:\ULTRASND [current settings] DOS=UMB,HIGH D:\ULTRASND\ULTRINIT.EXE -dj Demo also supports... COVOX :) try setting SURPRISE=BYE and here you are. [ IMPORTANT ....................................................... ] This is the last project from Unreal/Camel/Scorpik team under the Surprise! Productions label. It is kind of a "good-bye" prod. Unreal, Camel, Scorpik, Niko, Sketch and Skowron are leaving Surprise!. We are joining with Infiny of France and Distorsion of France to form new group called PULSE. This includes all participant of COCOON project. Pulse is from now: coders Camel PL ex.S!P LCA FR ex.Infiny Paranoia FR ex.Distorsion Unreal PL ex.S!P gfx artists Ajt FR ex.Infiny Antony FR ex.Infiny Dreamdealers Lazur PL Nah Kolor/TRSi Made FR ex.Distorsion Bomb Niko FR ex.S!P Oxygene Sketch PL ex.S!P Skowron PL ex.S!P Funzine musicians Scorpik PL ex.S!P Absolute! Shad FR ex.Infiny We herby send thanks to ReeBoK, and wish him luck with making his group survive and be active. We also send greetings to all members of S!P worldwide (like Lord Cyrix, Erik, Antibyte, Liam, Deep Frz, Venior, etc.) Under S!P label, You could see from us: Artdisk - gfx from Seq and Skowron Bad News - magazine by Akira/Sketch/Scorpik and SUBSTANCE CAF_rls - mod/gfx releases from CAF'95 Cocoon - demo by Unreal/Scorpik/Camel/Lazur/Beast/Dave Dreamsteal - demo by Camel/Unreal/Seq/Sketch/Scorpik/Skowron Hole - intro by Unreal/Sketch/Tees Insideout - demo by Camel/Unreal/Scorpik/Tees/Sketch S!P-Pbrk - BBStro for Pointbreak by Unreal/Sketch Shadow - intro by Unreal/Scorpik Up - intro by Camel/Scorpik/Dan/Sketch/Skowron/Unreal ;) this makes 10 productions, some of them were better, some of them were worse (like absolutely screwed Artdisk put in hurry). It's 10 productions (or releases?) for nearly 2 years of our activity in Surprise! Productions. In time of our S!P presence, only BBSdemo and 4k intro were released by other members, so we think that both S!P as group gave something to us, and we gave it something from ourselves. See you in PULSE infofiles. Unreal, formerly polish S!P section manager [==============================================================================] [ JUST (f)ART, NO COMPLEX FRUITS ]
