Claims to be the first demo to support the Gravis Ultrasound.

Emulating JUNGLY.EXE in DOSee.

Use these tabs to make adjustments to the emulation

Gravis Ultrasound (GUS) audio settings, port 240 IRQ 5 DMA 1

If the emulation is taking too long to load, you can turn it off.

Reload DOSee to launch the DOS prompt

Applying changes will reload the page and reboot the emulator

Changes are not applied until the browser tab is reloaded

DOS programs need a keyboard for user input
Some common keys used in DOS programs

ENTER to select or continue
ESC to navigate back or exit
are often used to navigate menus

Emulation too slow?
Set the emulator to use maximum CPU speed

Emulation too fast?
Set the emulator to use the 8086 CPU configuration

Experiencing graphic or animation glitches?
Set the emulator to use VGA only graphics configuration

Need to turn off the audio?
Disable sound card support

Have no audio?
  1. Try SoundBlaster 16 hardware
  2. The song or audio file maybe missing from the program
  3. Audio may not be supported
Unlike other systems of the era, audio for DOS was unfortunately complicated for both programmers and end users alike. A lot of early scene software didn't bother including it. While those that did often didn't test it on all the hardware they supposedly supported.

DOSee pronounced dos/see, is our emulator used to run MS-DOS based software in your web browser.

MS-DOS (Microsoft DOS) was the primary operating system used by PCs during the 1980s to the early 1990s and is the precursor to Microsoft Windows.

DOSee is a slimmed down, modified port of The Emularity.

The Emularity is a multi-platform JavaScript emulator that supports the running of software for legacy computer platforms in a web browser. It is the same platform that's running emulation on the Internet Archive.

EM-DOSBox is a discontinued, high-performance JavaScript port of DOSBox that is applied by The Emularity for its emulation of the MS-DOS platform.

DOSee uses BrowserFS ZipFS and ZipFS Extras to simulate zip file archives as hard disks within EM-DOSBox.

DOSBox is the most popular MS-DOS emulator in use today and is frequently used by commercial game publishers to run games from their back-catalogues on modern computers.

.••• TWILIGHT ZONE •••. Presents The Jungly Kitchen Release Date : 25. Jan 1993 Welcome to another Twilight Zone production. Maybe you have seen this demo before, because some suckers spread a copy they got from The Party '92 in Denmark. It was very buggy, 1/2 finished and it didn't even work with SB. We told them not to spread the demo, and they should be so thoughtful that they didn't copy it to everyone. There were only one 2 groups who got our demo, and we know who the guilty one is. SUCKERS!! Anyway, I want everyone who saw that demo to forget it. Enough about that, and over to this real release : -------------------------------------------------- This time we have made something a bit special. And I don't think it's going to bore you :-). And guess what, we have support for the UltraSound!! The player is not finished, so the modules may sound a bit different/wrong. I did only get sound in one of my speakers with the greetings module. This is a very strange bug, because It doesn't happen with any other modules. Thanks to Joshua C. Jensen (Cyberstrike of Renaissance) for the GUS Routines, frequency table and volume table. This demo got a bit big, because the size of the modules together is about 750k unzipped. This was actually our contribution to the demo comp at The Party '92 in Denmark. We were a little bit short of time, so we did have time to test it with SoundBlaster, and of course it didn't work :-(((((( :-))) The bug was that Goldplay's Startplaying destroyed ES. Then the pointer to the Video memory was gone. (Future Crew : That's the reason why there were only music and no graphics :-)) I really liked the fact that our demo didn't work. Then we could make a finished demo, instead of releasing a 1/2 finished one. You can press escape to quit the Twilight Bobs, but it won't go on before the bob you're watching is finished. Hardware Requirements: ------------------------ Processor : 386 or better. 386-16 to 25 users will miss some features like: 386-16 : the rotating globe, swinging snake. 386-20 : swinging snake. 386-25 : swinging snake. We made it this way, so it won't look to slow on you PC's. The UltraSound version will give you all the features, even if your computer is slow. Graphics card : VGA only. Music Devices : Soundplayer(s), SoundBlaster (Pro), Speaker, Gravis UltraSound Free memory : Goldplay version : 565000 bytes UltraSound version : 480000 bytes This demo won't work on a 286, hehe. I know there are going to be someone who complains about this. Why make a demo for 286 when you can get it faster on a 386/486? And there are very few people who are watching demos on 286's. 8088 and 286's are history.... !! The UltraSound version will also run in protected mode !! The credits for this demo: -------------------------- Coding - The Bogeyman Graphics - Wonder Music - L.K.A and The Animal (The Twilight Bobs module in the UltraSound version is composed by The Animal of The Zoo < Your wish is my command :-)) Distribution - Jeki Music System - Goldplay v1.01s by The CodeBlasters, Hello Stein...
