The graphics are passable and the sound is ║ ║ pretty good, especially the beeper. The game itself is a huge ║ ║ game, with many different playing styles - in one part it is ║ ║ played like Eye of the Beholder, in another like Wizardry, and ║ ║ in another like a Sierra game. As a result of this the game ║ ║ installs to 8.5 megs on the hard drive. The first part of the ║ ║ game is the Wizardryesque section, and it is kind of lame but ║ ║ after that the game gets MUCH better. ║ ║ ║ ║ NOTE: Three people played this game for about an hour apiece, ║ ║ and none of us found any protection on the game. The game came ║ ║ with the Amiga packaging and manual, and the Amiga version had ║ ║ protection which is referred to in the manual. Since there is ║ ║ no PC manual in the box, we can't tell if the same is true for ║ ║ the PC version - but if there IS protection we have been un- ║ ║ able to find it. We will continue playing it and if we hit ║ ║ any bad spots a crack will be out ASAP. If you happen to ║ ║ come across any protection in the game please let a Razor ║ ║ Member know so we can put out a fix. Look all you want in the DOX that WE ║ ║ put out for the game and you won't find the codes - they ║ ║ are LEVEL codes that you LEARN WHILE PLAYING THE GAME. ║ ║ If you call removing parts of the gameplay cracking, then ║ ║ you've done one hell of a job. I don't call what you did ║ ║ cracking, I call it FUCKING UP ANOTHER GAME, just like ║ ║ Might & Magic IV and Lady Love. Learn what you are doing ║ ║ or get the fuck out of the scene. ║ ║ ALL - The TDT version of Captive is not 100% working. It WAS ║ ║ when they first got it, but Hard Core chose to modify the ║ ║ program to make it easier for those who don't want to ║ ║ actually PLAY the game to the fullest extent.
