Bud's Biased Utils Report #31 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Well there's no real report this week... seems although I was done on time last week, no one else was... sigh... perhaps one day NWR will be on time two weeks in a row. Anyways I discovered we were in a rush to get this double issue out... and since I've worked every day since the last one, I said fuck it... I'd rather not do a half assed job. However, I did notice a few utils worth mentioning, thought I'd point them out. XF gets credit for a fully working SurfCam 99, Corp got out a few addons for Solid Works that might be worth grabbing. PWA gets kudos for PeachTree Complete Accounting 7, for those of you REALLY desperate for an accounting package, check it out. Someone release Simply Accounting 7 Canadian (yeah, hey, I'm too lazy to myself), and I might actually use it. And while on the topic, XF strikes again with MS Money 2000 & the Deluxe edition of the aforementioned package. Where was PWA on that??? Pinnacle get their first major app in a while with Visio 2000 Standard (v6.0 if you're counting). Damn. I missed a good week. LND put out CamWorks 99, and DOD Act 2000 Final from Symantec. Corp put out Oracle 8i Personal and something else I've forgotten. Honestly though I have to give kudos to XF for actually doing something really productive and suprising me. Finally, more talk of moving out of efnet this week, as groups panic over the recent busts. Hmmm anyone remember XNet? Disclaimer: It's BIASED moron. My opinion. So don't send me a bunch of mail & messages bitching about this or that. If you don't like it... SCREW YOU =] Rankings: Groups get a score out of 10. Points are given for amount of releases, but QUALITY titles will give a group a much higher score. Nukes for duping, broken releases and just plain CRAP will lower a groups score. However on the occasion that a title is nuked which I don't feel should have been, MY OWN JUDGEMENT TAKES PRECEDENCE. Cuz I'm writing this. Groups can also get points for any other reason I see fit. Week: Week is based from 08/10/99 to 08/16/99. I'm in the EST time zone so dates/times run according to it. Groups: (In no particular order) Sorry, no full report this week... blow me. Anyone interested in that offer please message me on efnet IRC. New this week: N/A Idle this week: PRM, LND, DOD, SCUM. Quote(s) of the Week: "My dreams aren't so empty as my conscience seems to be" "*** Topic is 'nwr56 will be out tonight..." <Mr_Serial> i'm at my Gfs right now <[Fedor]> AOL <[Fedor]> heheheheheheheheheh <[Fedor]> shes 1337 This is where something interesting (yeah right!) would normally be. - Bud
