DOSee pronounced dos/see, is our emulator used to run MS-DOS based software in your web browser.

MS-DOS (Microsoft DOS) was the primary operating system used by PCs during the 1980s to the early 1990s and is the precursor to Microsoft Windows.

DOSee is a slimmed down, modified port of The Emularity.

The Emularity is a multi-platform JavaScript emulator that supports the running of software for legacy computer platforms in a web browser. It is the same platform that's running emulation on the Internet Archive.

EM-DOSBox is a discontinued, high-performance JavaScript port of DOSBox that is applied by The Emularity for its emulation of the MS-DOS platform.

DOSee uses BrowserFS ZipFS and ZipFS Extras to simulate zip file archives as hard disks within EM-DOSBox.

DOSBox is the most popular MS-DOS emulator in use today and is frequently used by commercial game publishers to run games from their back-catalogues on modern computers.

The Gamer's Edge Issue #1 is out. Because of time constraints with me going away on Sunday for a month, we left out two articles that we originally planned to be in the mag. I hope this isn't a problem, and they will be present in Issue #2, which should come out in 2 weeks. Please enjoy the variety of articles that we offer. We hope that TGE will continue to grow and thus allow us to have a larger magazine. If you are interested in helping us stay "on the threshold of the gaming world" please drop by #TGE on EFnet and ask for an app. We encourage input, so we have set up a public mailing station at [email protected] where you can mail us your comments. Also if you have anything that I should see personally, as in leads etc., then you can e-mail me, Jove, at [email protected] and I will look over what you send in. Please feel free to send in any letters covering any topic in the gaming world. We will try to put as many of these as possible in the next mag. Thanks for supporting TGE, and please tell your friends about us so you can help the ONLY gamez e-mag in the scene to grow. We welcome _CoRpSe_, spankey and DaxX as new writers!
