At first sight, you may gasp and │ │ say "But, where are all the pretty flashing graphics? And scrolling │ │ text? And MUSIC?". I decided to go an alternate route with this │ │ installer and create it with one concept in mind "Make it simple, │ │ and make it compatible". My goal is to have people use this │ │ installer, rather than opt to manually unACE releases. │ │ │ │ The major complaints I hear about other groups installer programs │ │ is that they crash out, don't work properly in certain video modes │ │ (large fonts), grind your system to a halt with animation/music │ │ and are simply massive (adding almost a complete disk to the size │ │ of a release). │ │ │ │ With these comments in mind, I created an installer that works │ │ perfectly in all video modes, NT or 95/98, coded completely in │ │ compact CPP code using raw Win32 API calls and is EASY to use │ │ (a design very similar to the InstallSHIELD engine that everyone │ │ is familiar with and knows how to use). │ │ │ │ The RAZOR installer is also the first install engine to offer │ │ complete un-install via the Control Panels Add/Remove Programs │ │ interface and/or an icon. The un-install program will completely │ │ remove a RAZOR release from your computer after you are done with │ │ it, deleting all files and removing any registry keys that were │ │ created.
