(starting w/1st to present) <undinism> damn, I wish I could remember first to present. Ive been in way too many, but heres a start. M8,MNM,RCN,LEGACY(games group from 95ish),KRC, DMS,NGT,OUTBREAK,ViCE,RiSC,COVE,REBELS,DEVOTiON and probably a heap of others. (sorry to any groups I forgot!). -[CwS Interviewer]: How did you become involved in the scene? <undinism> basically, warez were part of me since the early 80's (im an old fart kinda I know!). But about 89, I read about MUD (online multiplayer text AD&D game) and I got onto it using this thing called the internet. stuffing around on it, ftp sites etc (yes in 80's we had them) and early 90's (I guess 91 or 92 was the first time I really found the scene) I d/l games like nothing else for my pleasure mainly because I was a poor dumb uni student who loved his games and things when on from there. I met dizzident (from DEV fame comes to mind :) ) and he gave me a .nl shell to play with. I havent looked back since. -[CwS Interviewer]: How long have you been an active scene member? <undinism> well thats hard to say as Im always trading a bit, sticking my nose where its not always wanted *grin*, going away for a while (longest break I had from the net was 11-12 months or so because an ex gf thought/thinks its EViL!). so out of the 8 years I have known of the 'scene', I guess 1/2 to 3/5's would be me being as active. my fav times were the days of Nihil, T.O.S (online BBS's rocked) -[CwS Interviewer]: Which are your best talents in the scene? ( courier/rls group/admin ) <undinism> well, thats a hard question as its all fun as a whole (if you want it to be). I would say if I hard to choose, trading, mainly because thats where I first started and have spent the most doing. I used to be a siteop in 96 or so (poprocket OWNED) and that was hell fun but yeah, trading because you can always be active in it (even when there are no releases! mkdir TRADE.THIS.AND.THIS.MEANS.YOU.SUCK dirs are always fun) -[CwS Interviewer]: What is currently happening in your Group? <undinism> well in the groups Im currently active, REBELS and DEVOTiON, RBS is rlsing quite nicely. DEVOTiON is just going through some restructuring. We are mainly (100% more like it) a euro trading group and its been quiet over euro way cause most people are out celebrating since its summer theres a lot of shit going on about DEV mainly from people who dont know, but who I got to say to this "just watch out peeps" :) -[CwS Interviewer]: How did you get to where you are in the scene? <undinism> well, lots of hard work. I earned my place in the inner scene purely by spending lots of time trading, getting good at it and edging my way into it. I also have one way fucked up outlook on life and lots of people tend to like it and make friendships with me. That also helps :) I just try to be friendly to anyone and everyone I can, apart from the arguement here and there... -[CwS Interviewer]: What is you Opinion on the current status of the scene? <undinism> I feel its got too 'organised' and ego is playing too much part of it these days. I feel the relaying of dirs etc make it like this because releases are seen instantly and not seen from doing the occassional 'ls' Well I feel a lot of old school values are missing, the main reason we are here (well what it should be) is WAREEZ. Not for ego or shit. The passing of warez is what its all about. I just feel the enduser is forgotten these days -[CwS Interviewer]: If there was anything at all that you could do to help improve the scene in any way, what would that be? <undinism> basically, someone give me next weeks lotto numbers or give me lots of cash so I have the spare time to dedicate to doing this. What we need is people to realise, trading should be fun and maybe some guidelines thrown in. Today for lunch I took one of my mates daughters (shes a near 3 yr old, so no dirty thoughts THANK YOU!) for a walk to Mcshitonalds and bought her a (so called) happy meal. Ive gotten all clucky and shit having a new born (my same mates) and his other 2 daughters near me a lot (16 months an the near 3 yr old), as Ive been a nice guy lately and helping out my mate and his wife with their kids. I managed to get banned for life from a night club last thur night, 3 or 4 guys were lining up to hit my friend, so I do the cool thing and kick these fuckers in the head each to stop them, the thing is, thats not what got me banned, it was the dull witted bouncer trying to drag me out while I had my hand on a rail at the edge of the dance floor. It seems the 'usual' top 5 groups are changing around a bit. ViCE and DEV arent showing in the list and RiSC jumped ahead of DEV in the years overall total this week. What else can happen? Stray finally gets laid? Nah never *grin* Only joking bro.. AOD? More sounds UOD, Undi on drugs. Darkwolf(#5 a long way behind #4 though and nicely above #6) was the only AOD trader to make the #5 list, whereas jff(#13), mimoz(#16) and tazola (#21 hmm, he always seems to dominate early in the week I see?
