Doom II virus warning   by Nexus (NXS)

Well boyz and girls.. this is the scoop on DOOM ][... I called up "ID SOFTWARE" (From the number that I got off of my HIGHLY illegal copy of DOOM ][) and some guy answered... he didnt sound like the standard stuck up corporate guy... (His Jive accent clued me off on this one..) so I say to him "I have a copy of DOOM (1) and I heard something about some virus that is going to be activated on Oct. 10th... what the hell is all this about?" Well this guy says to me "I dont know anything about that... " and proceeded to tell me that if I had a an unregestered version of DOOM that it was Illegal. He thought that I had an Unreg'd copy of DOOM ][... so i told him that it was DOOM 1... he said "Oooohhh.. that Oct. 10th thing isnt for DOOM 1.. its for DOOM ][" so I says to him "So there IS a virus"... and he said "Naw man.. I didnt say that...<laugh, laugh>" and I said "well why the fuck would anyone put a Virus in thier game???" and he said "Well it would only be for Pirated Versions..." and I said "Well how the Virus know if its a Pirated Version or not??" and he just laughed and said "Well IF THERE WAS a virus in the game then everyone would have to call the company, and give the error number.. and only the people that have Reg'd copies would get the code to break out of the virus..." (He thought that this was VERY funny and started laughing..) so I said "Well thanx a lot man.." and hung up... now... this aint no shit.. this is STRAIGHT from "ID software".. if you dont believe me.. then the next time that you play DOOM ][... look at the screen when you exit from the game, and get the number... and call for yourself... I just deleted DOOM ][ from my Hard Drive... the game is old anyhow... maybe this is just a bunch of shit put out by "ID Software" in hopes that the "Underground World" would catch a whiff of it, and delete all the pirated copies...
