Most Windows programs │ │ use these 2 directories as “dumping grounds” for support files, and │ │ since these directories are very large, it is nearly impossible to │ │ keep track of it all. │ │ The first time you run the program, it will store a “SnapShot” of │ │ your WINDOWS directory, and, if you wish, your WINDOWS\SYSTEM │ │ directory, as well. The next time you use SnapShot, it will │ │ automatically load the stored data. Accessing the Scan function will │ │ cause the program to compare the information with the current │ │ contents of the directory, and any differences will be reported. │ │ These differences include New Files, Missing Files, and Changed │ │ Files. Changed Files are determined by comparing both the file │ │ size and the time/date stamp. Once the scan is complete you will │ │ have the option of saving the new information as the default SnapShot. │ │ │ │ The program will allow you to both print and copy to the clipboard │ │ either the current snapshot or the current contents of the directory. │ │ You can also print or copy just the differences between the two, if │ │ you wish. │ │ There is really only one other thing about the program that is less │ │ than obvious.
