After unpacking the files in the localization pack, you will │ │ have a directory structure like this: │ │ │ │ Localization Pack │ │ \ │ │ |-Builds │ │ | \ │ │ | |-Cs │ │ | |-prf │ │ | │ │ |-Ctl3d │ │ | │ │ |-Help │ │ | │ │ |-Lang │ │ | \ │ │ | |-Eng │ │ | │ │ |-Redist │ │ | │ │ |-Source │ │ │ │ The .iwz file that is in the \Cs directory │ │ contains the Express installation files used to create the │ │ English edition. They have been set up to match the folder │ │ structure that is illustrated above. However, you can change │ │ the locations to match whatever structure you wish to use. │ │ Just make sure that the same files are included in Express's │ │ file groups and everything will work fine. │ │ │ │ 2. As you can see from the directory illustrated, there is a │ │ Lang folder with a Eng sub-folder. We suggest that you │ │ create another sub-folder here for the language you plan on │ │ localizing for if the one you need is not present. │ │ │ │ 3. The file Wizrdtyp.dll contains two bitmaps which can be │ │ updated with localized text. If you wish to update these │ │ bitmaps, place a copy the Wizrdtyp.dll in the Eng folder │ │ in the new language folder. Then, open the .dll up and │ │ replace the English splash screen with the localized versions │ │ (These bitmaps should also be saved as Setup.bmp (for the 256 │ │ color version) and Setup16.bmp (for the 16-color version).) │ │ │ │ 4. All of the strings to localize Express are located in │ │ Resdll.dll. Make a copy of this file and place it in the new │ │ language folder. To modify the .dll, open it up on an NT4 │ │ system in any resource editor and replace the English strings │ │ with the translated strings. │ │ │ │ 5. Three of the files in the Redist folder can be updated for the │ │ new language. Place copies of License.txt, Readme.txt, and │ │ Splash.bmp from the Redist folder into the new language folder │ │ and modify them as needed. │ │ │ │ 6. To localize the billboards to be displayed during the │ │ installation, copy the Setup1.bmp through Setup4.bmp files from │ │ the Eng folder to the new language folder and make any needed │ │ translations. │ │ │ │ 7. You might need to modify the Swdepend.ini file to take into │ │ account any different language files used by an InstallShield │ │ Object. For example, for the German Client/Server version, the │ │ Swdepend.ini file needed the IDR2009.DLL file to be changed to │ │ IDR2007.DLL. │ │ │ │ 8.
