So far (if my sources are correct) exactly 40 games have been released for the PlayStation. Breakdowns by type of game are as follows: Board games (mostly Mahjong)....8 titles. Example: "Gorgeous Mahjong Warrier Sootchy-Pie-limited" Features cute, scantily clad, anime girls. Puzzle games.....7 titles. Example: Pop-n-Twinbee Features: Play similar to Puyo Puyo; animated characters in background cheer when you are winning, totally freak out when you are losing. A fun party game. Fighting games.....3 titles. Example: Tekken Features: Go play the arcade version, the home version is identical. Well actually, the home version is BETTER. And you get Galaga as a bonus. Example#2: Toshinden Features: Attractive backgrounds, gorgeous character designs, and true 3D fighting. All the characters are equipped with weapons. Racing games.....3 titles. Example: Ridge Racer Features: Missing a few colors, and displayed at a lower resolution, but otherwise identical to the arcade version. Galaxian is the bonus. Other titles: Motor Toon and Cosmic Race. Action games.....3 titles. Example: Hot Blooded Family Features: Final Fight type action, lots of color. Other titles: Gunner's Heaven and Jumping Flash. These were supposed to be released today (4/28/95), so I have little info on them. Gunner's Heaven looks an awful lot like Gunstar Heroes; Jumping Flash is a 3D action game. Shooters....3 titles. Example: Raiden Project Features: You get both of the Raiden arcade games at home. Expect lots of explosions. Other titles: Parodius and Starblade. Pachinko.......3 titles. Example: Victory Zone Features: A multitude of Pachinko machines, as well as a multitude of 3D views to watch the action. Just don't ask me how to play.... 3D Action Adventure...2 titles. Examples: Kileak the Blood and Space Griffon VF-9 Features: 3D mazes and lots of shooting. The next generation of Doom clones. 3D RPG....2 titles. Examples: Crime Crackers and Kings Field Features: Same as above, but with more emphasis on role playing. Crime Crackers is cute, Kings Field is more serious. Sports.....1 title. Example: PowerPro Baseball Features: Cute characters and great game play. 3D Battle...1 title. Example: Cybersled Features: It's the arcade version with texture mapping and lower resolution. Digital Comics...1 title. Example: Kouma Hunter Lime Features: Cute, scantily clad anime girls. Computer ports....1 title. Example: Myst Features: Lots of pretty pictures. Been there, done that. Simulation....1 title. Example: A.IV.evolution Features: It appears to be a SimCity type game using trains. The 3D graphics look nice. Pinball....1 title.
