Notes : ~~~~~~ You may have noticed that CLS released a crappy chess game they ripped from an ISO. Why should any man with common sense download CLS one and not the ISO? Because thanks to poor research, CLS managed to rip out everything new in the game! A quick note about Virtual Chess Academy : Some informed nukers accused us of duping ourselves with that game... and having the worst grammer skills in the scene. Here are the facts : - We released Virtual Chess 2 (c) Titus in December 1997. If you look VC Academy exe it dates from Mid '98 - which means it's over a year old and should be nuked just for that! And if you do About in VC Academy it says (c) 1998 - more proof that we didn't even look when we ripped it. We don't know why this game took so long to come out but it's probably because it's a repack of Virtual Chess 2, with some new added tutorials for 1999 (which we of course ripped, only giving users the old stuff!!!). Wondering how we could have duped a 1997 program with a (c) 1998 program? Well the reason it is (c) 1998 is that our 1997 release was VC2 v2.0, which this is VC2 v2.03 - more proof from that great ABOUT feature. Of course if you have VC2 you could have just got the very minor bugfixes from tech support oh, say LAST YEAR! - While the original VC 2 game released in December '97 was multilanguage and released in the USA & UK , Vritual Chess Academy is schedueled to release at full price 34.99ú in the UK next week by Interplay (Interplay being owned by frog company Titus who developped the game...). Why this matters is beyond even us, since Virtual Chess Academy is also multilanguage and has been released in the US already, and the UK next week - gee seems mighty similar to VC2. Since when did companies release 2 year old games games at full price if nothing new is in it? They don't! There is something new in it - the tutorials we ripped!!! Because we REALLY wanted you guys to play that great 1997 game, Virtual Chess 2! Yes the games looks the same on the graphics side but, Because it is the same! The graphics all date 1997. The core of a chess game is its engine and VC academy one has not been imporved one bit - even the box states "Microcomputer Professional World Chess Champion 1996-1997" If that's not enough proof, get the ISO and look for yourselves... after all, there's only about half a dozen files from 1999... and they're the tutorials, setup, and menu files!
