Emulating GE-CRK.EXE in DOSee.

Use these tabs to make adjustments to the emulation

If the emulation is taking too long to load, you can turn it off.

Reload DOSee to launch the DOS prompt

Applying changes will reload the page and reboot the emulator

Changes are not applied until the browser tab is reloaded

DOS programs need a keyboard for user input
Some common keys used in DOS programs

ENTER to select or continue
ESC to navigate back or exit
are often used to navigate menus

Emulation too slow?
Set the emulator to use maximum CPU speed

Emulation too fast?
Set the emulator to use the 8086 CPU configuration

Experiencing graphic or animation glitches?
Set the emulator to use VGA only graphics configuration

Need to turn off the audio?
Disable sound card support

Have no audio?
  1. Try SoundBlaster 1.0 hardware
  2. Try Covox Sound Master hardware
  3. The song or audio file maybe missing from the program
  4. Audio may not be supported
Unlike other systems of the era, audio for DOS was unfortunately complicated for both programmers and end users alike. A lot of early scene software didn't bother including it. While those that did often didn't test it on all the hardware they supposedly supported.

DOSee pronounced dos/see, is our emulator used to run MS-DOS based software in your web browser.

MS-DOS (Microsoft DOS) was the primary operating system used by PCs during the 1980s to the early 1990s and is the precursor to Microsoft Windows.

DOSee is a slimmed down, modified port of The Emularity.

The Emularity is a multi-platform JavaScript emulator that supports the running of software for legacy computer platforms in a web browser. It is the same platform that's running emulation on the Internet Archive.

EM-DOSBox is a discontinued, high-performance JavaScript port of DOSBox that is applied by The Emularity for its emulation of the MS-DOS platform.

DOSee uses BrowserFS ZipFS and ZipFS Extras to simulate zip file archives as hard disks within EM-DOSBox.

DOSBox is the most popular MS-DOS emulator in use today and is frequently used by commercial game publishers to run games from their back-catalogues on modern computers.

╒═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╕ │ GoldED(tm) KEY Generator. Written by Wolfgang Gullich for : │ │ │ │ "The Registration Terrorists" │ │ │ │ Technical Notes and Documentation... │ │ (c)1993 The Registration Terrorists, Melbourne, Australia. 04/08/93. │ ╘═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╛ Safety : ~~~~~~~~ The key generator should arrive in a authenticity verified pkzip archive, with both ge-crk.doc and ge-crk.exe having the same date/time stamps. If this is not the case, the program could have tampered with. Introduction and Technical Notes: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The actual key is made up of a CRC, a name and a serial number. The key is a series of hex bytes, and it will always be of even length since TWO characters in the key make ONE hex byte. Thus, 4 characters make a word and the first word in the key is the CRC value. Then there is a sysop name of variable length, a comma and a serial number, all encrypted. The serial number is not related to the name. We decided to improve on the previous version of the key generator, by calculating the serial from the system clock. As a side note, good crackers think ahead of the programmer. Thus, by ensuring a random serial number, it is far harder for Odinn (The Author of GoldED) to detect fake keys. Usage : ~~~~~~~ Place GE-CRK.EXE in your GoldED directory. Run GE-CRK.EXE and enter your name when it asks. Your REGISTERKEY will be displayed to your screen AND attached to the end of your GOLDED.CFG. If you decide NOT to place GE-CRK.EXE in your GoldED directory, the program will display your REGISTERKEY to the screen. Disclaimer: ~~~~~~~~~~~ We make no guarentees that this program won't cause damage to equipment, loss of income, formation of gang green in limbs, pregnancy, baldness, impotency or even make that video recorder not turn on when your sure your programmed it correctly. Even better, if this does happen, we take no responsibility for it. Your the one that ran the program in the first place....ehhh? Greetings-Thanks: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This key generator would not have been possible if it was not for a kind sysop who lent us his key. We wont mention names but we thank you very much for your help and co-operation. Thanks to all members of T.R.T for helping out, esp The Illusive Shadow. Special Notes: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If your key DOES NOT work, run the program again. I have found a few situations where the key is not accepted, but 99% of keys work. All the best, Wolfgang Gullich
