first, let start with some properties of the audio CDs
what you need on a protection is to know a fixed value
find something that is different in a copy
audio tracks do it for you
did you guys ever burn an audio cd?
ok.. if you read the TOC of the
CD, the original and the copy are never the
same
if you check the separation
between tracks, they're not the same
so, there you have a way to know
if you're dealing with a copy
problem is, that cd checks are
easy to remove
so what we did is take that
track separation as half of a decyption key
and the other half of the key
came from a serial number you input
that key, once built,
deencrypted a portion of our program
the encryption was DES2, wich is
not all impressive but works
also you can read the HD brand the
guys is using
so once decrypted, we encrypted
the thing again with the HD brand
so the program will be attached
to that machine
well, you guys might not need that
but basically that was it
its been on the market for 1 year
no cracks yet
