Emulating 1.0/CRACKER0.EXE in DOSee.

Use these tabs to make adjustments to the emulation

If the emulation is taking too long to load, you can turn it off.

Reload DOSee to launch the DOS prompt

Applying changes will reload the page and reboot the emulator

Changes are not applied until the browser tab is reloaded

DOS programs need a keyboard for user input
Some common keys used in DOS programs

ENTER to select or continue
ESC to navigate back or exit
are often used to navigate menus

Emulation too slow?
Set the emulator to use maximum CPU speed

Emulation too fast?
Set the emulator to use the 8086 CPU configuration

Experiencing graphic or animation glitches?
Set the emulator to use VGA only graphics configuration

Need to turn off the audio?
Disable sound card support

Have no audio?
  1. Try SoundBlaster 1.0 hardware
  2. Try Covox Sound Master hardware
  3. The song or audio file maybe missing from the program
  4. Audio may not be supported
Unlike other systems of the era, audio for DOS was unfortunately complicated for both programmers and end users alike. A lot of early scene software didn't bother including it. While those that did often didn't test it on all the hardware they supposedly supported.

DOSee pronounced dos/see, is our emulator used to run MS-DOS based software in your web browser.

MS-DOS (Microsoft DOS) was the primary operating system used by PCs during the 1980s to the early 1990s and is the precursor to Microsoft Windows.

DOSee is a slimmed down, modified port of The Emularity.

The Emularity is a multi-platform JavaScript emulator that supports the running of software for legacy computer platforms in a web browser. It is the same platform that's running emulation on the Internet Archive.

EM-DOSBox is a discontinued, high-performance JavaScript port of DOSBox that is applied by The Emularity for its emulation of the MS-DOS platform.

DOSee uses BrowserFS ZipFS and ZipFS Extras to simulate zip file archives as hard disks within EM-DOSBox.

DOSBox is the most popular MS-DOS emulator in use today and is frequently used by commercial game publishers to run games from their back-catalogues on modern computers.

[+] Configuration Copy text
CRACKER & CRK2COM are Helpfull tools for ace-crackers and beginers. ------------------------------------------------------------------- CRK files. Approximately 100 of sample .CRK files are included. Unpack them from CRKFILES.ZIP. (see How to make CRK file) Cracker. Cracker is a utility that scans current directory for CRK files, shows titles and allows you to patch some. Really it has a good interface, so there is no description required. Anyways, I'm not an author of this programm... CRK2COM. That's something I've done myself. There's no fun to supply large cracker with every patch you've done... This utility converts CRK files to executable COM files. Size depends on number of patches. How to create CRK files. ---------------------- Yes, that's only one thing why this programs are better than others. For example you have program GAME.EXE. You've patched one byte (03h to FFh) to make nearly ulimited lives. Cracked version of GAME.EXE saved in GAME.NEW. That's use DOS FC command: FC /B GAME.EXE GAME.NEW >GAME.CRK Now start your text editor. Insert 1st line - "My first cracked game" Insert 2nd line - (empty. just CRLF, used to separate patches), Insert 3rd line - "Unlimite lives by Cracking Lamer", Change 4th line - from "Comparing files GAME.EXE and GAME.NEW:" to "GAME.EXE" Save file. Execute: CRK2COM GAME.CRK !GAME.COM That's it... Ready to be released... Once started, !GAME.COM'll say following: --- Patch for My first cracked game (Created by CRK2COM v1.10 Beta. (c)1993, .BAT-Man)... Unlimited lives by Cracking Lamer ──> Apply patch(Y/n)? --- - Best wishes to all local bandits, .BAT-Man. P.S. for UdSSR guys only: Please, upload it to my friends at Grave Digger's Board: +7(095)271-9738. =========================================================================== Official part: CRK file format is (c)1990-91, The Corner Crackers. CRACKER utility is (c)1991, The Corner Crackers. CRK2COM is (c)1993, .BAT-Man/UGi/I.C.E. Comments/Bug reports are welcome at 80:1030/0@ICENet, 2:5020/83.7@fidonet.
