AMIGA UPLOAD COMPETITION ------------------------ Hello there, its Axe/Nerve Axis here on the keys. I am one of the co-sysops on the Nerve Axis \X/HQ which is called Trick Or Treat II. (0703 - 391797) The sysop of this BBS is ZiPzIpPy/Nerve Axis and then other two co-sysops are Crash!/Nerve Axis and Mark Meany/AmIgAnUtS. Anyway, back to the main point of this article, we at Trick Or Treat II (0703 - 391797) are holding an upload competition, which is quite self- explanatory really but if you're new to comms here is what an upload competition is. The person who uploads the MOST bytes to the BBS between the opening and closing competition dates is the winner! Simple huy? Well this is what's going to happen at Trick Or Treat II BBS (0703 - 391797) starting from the 1st of October to the 31st of October 1994, so the competition will last one whole month. We believe this to be the first competition of its type in the UK. Competition sponsor(s) and prizes to be announced. The first prize will be an internal Hard Drive (at least 80 meg). The 2nd prize will be an External Floppy Drive. The 3rd prize will be a mouse. plus others!! Prizes are subject to alteration but will be of similar value. Notification will be posted upon confirmation of prizes. As with every competition there have to be some rules, so here they are: Things NOT to upload: --------------------- Porn, BBS Adpacks, ASCII collections, Phreak files, illegal software, fonts, clipart, ripped modules from games or demos, ripped graphics from games or demos, modem capture files and no renamed or corrupted files. Things TO upload: ----------------- Demos (have to be under 3 months old), original graphics or music (ie YOUR own), P.D. utils (have to be under 3 months old), P.D. games (have to be under 3 months old), diskmags (under 3 months old), textfiles (under 100k and less than 3 months old) and any other legit new things you may have that are not already on the BBS. 1) From 12.01am 1st October 94 till 12.01am 1st November 94 there will be NO NEW users, so if you want to take part in this competition you will HAVE to have an account on Trick Or Treat II BBS (0703 - 391797) BEFORE 1st October 2) The online games on the BBS will be disabled for the month while the competition is on. 3) EVERY user taking part in the competition will start with 45 minutes of online time each day and a disabled upload/download ratio (no requirement to upload files to be able to download). Use this time VERY carefully! If you upload a file which in normal circumstances would deserve extra credits you will be given 5 minutes EXTRA. So if you upload brilliant files instead of the normal stuff you could earn yourself quite a bit more online time which will obviously give you an advantage (up to a maximum of 15 minutes). Maximum online time is 1 hour per day - NOTE - The decision of which files are good enough to earn users extra online will be made by the sysop and the cosysops, and their decision is final! 4) The sysop and co-sysops will NOT be taking part in the competition. IMPORTANT NOTICE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ All files must be compressed with a recognised PUBLIC DOMAIN file/disk compression utility such as LHA, ZIP, DMS, ZOO, ARC, ZOOM, LZH. All uploads must be in good working order (please check before you upload). All uploads must have a description (File_ID.diz is automatically recognised). Mistakes will be tolerated, but consistent abuse and breach of the above rules will result in the deletion of your account.
