And what a month it has been, with │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ 33 releases, slightly less than last November, but still │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ impressive for the dead format we all love. Some of the most │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ awaited titles were released this month, The hugely hyped Donkey │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Kong 64 finally made it's appearance, along with the plain huge │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Resident Evil 2, having taken a overly long time to come from │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the Playstation. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Things in the "Scene" took a bad turn this month with a │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ large amount of fighting between scene members, and general bad │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ feeling being created. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ A lot of controversy was generated over the release of Tom │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Clancy's Rainbow Six, with The Corporation claiming they had │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ released the game first, well before the International Network │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ of Chaos release, they also claimed that members of the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ International Network of Chaos had packet flooded and other dirty │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ tricks The Corporation members to ensure that their release was │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ first, whilst strangely International Network of Chaos members │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ said exactly the same about The Corporation.... │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ In this case International Network of Chaos got the release │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ as their release was on more sites before The Corporation │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ release, in fact there was as two hour gap on one of the major │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ sites. Members of The Corporation complained that their release │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ was on The Corporation WHQ before the International Network of │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Chaos release was spread, and as such they "won" the release. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ It should be plain to everyone that "just" having the release │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ on a groups HQ is not the same as having it spread, plus it │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ makes it easy for any underhanded filedate tampering to take │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ place, for this reason it is seems we need to specify the rule │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ on dupes we use in compiling this chart once more. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Should more than one group release the same game simultaneously │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ whichever version of the release that makes it to the major FTP │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ sites first is deemed as being the first release. For this │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ reason the staff on the Dextrose chart have access to several of │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the major sites and a number of the less major sites which allow │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ us to determine the dupe. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ As always, make sure you check out http://www.dextrose.com/ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ often for the best information about ALL console backup units │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ and cheap imitation charts!* │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ RedboX │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ ([email protected]) │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ * cheap imitation charts unfortunately available in most areas. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░└──════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┘░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░┌──═( The Point System )═══════════════════════════════════════════──┐░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ World first release of a final ....................... 8 POINTS │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Final version of a previously released game .......... 6 POINTS │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Beta version of a game / Kiosk Demo .................. 4 POINTS │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Fix, Crack & Trainer patches ......................... 2 POINTS │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Version change release/patch ......................... 2 POINTS │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Dupe or Corrupt release .............................. 0 POINTS │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░└──════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┘░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░ ░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░ ─═( RELEASES SORTED BY GROUP )═─ ░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░ ░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░┌──═( AGGRESSION )═════════════════════════════════════════════════──┐░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ NBA Courtside 2 USA/NTSC 128 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Nintendo 09/11/99 AGS-NBAC.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Donkey Kong 64 USA/NTSC 256 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Nintendo/RARE 23/11/99 AGS-DK64.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ [ 16 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ This month brings more releases from the mighty Aggression │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ which despite AGS's claims lead most people to believe that they │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ are back after all. First up we have NBA Courtside 2 which │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ manages to avoid the usual trend of most developers, taking last │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ years code and making a few minor updates. Also from Aggression │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ this month is the long-long awaited Donkey Kong 64 which proved │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to be not as bad as expected, however the whole game is too │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ similar to Banjo Kazooie to be the gaming revolution Nintendo │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ seem to be determined the game is. Not only are many of the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ sound effects taken from the bird/bear classic but many of the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ levels seem strangely familiar, Creepy Castle is Mad Monster │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Mansion, Angry Aztec is Gobi's Valley, and Fungi Forest if │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ practically identical to Click Clock Wood, right down to the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ day/night system that replaces the four seasons. However │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ there is a lot to recommend the game, from the fantastic │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ lighting on display in some levels, to the sheer scale of the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ game, which will keep many people returning to the game to │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ collect everything. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░└──════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┘░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░ ░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░┌──═( CRAZY NATION )═══════════════════════════════════════════════──┐░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Toy Story 2 USA/NTSC *+4 trainer* │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Activision 15/11/99 CZN-TS_4.ZIP [ 2 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Rocket:Robot On Wheels USA/NTSC *+5 trainer* │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Sucker Punch 18/11/99 CZN-RE_5IP [ 2 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Namco Museum 64 USA/NTSC *+4 trainer* │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Namco 21/11/99 CZN-NM_4.ZIP [ 2 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Army Men:Sarges Heroes USA/NTSC *+8 trainer* │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ 3DO/Cyclone Studios 27/11/99 CZN-ASH8.ZIP [ 2 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Paperboy 64 USA/NTSC *+5 trainer* │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Midway / High Voltage 27/11/99 CZN-PBY8.ZIP [ 2 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ [ 10 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Crazy Nation make a major comeback this month with 5 new │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ trainers for those of us who feel the need to cheat. While the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Toy Story 2 trainer helped improve the game, making it more │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ accessible, the rocket on wheels trainer potentially ruined the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ game, by giving the player all the extra abilities from the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ start it removed a lot of the challenge from the game, and also │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ left the player not knowing which extra abilities they had or how │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to use them. The Namco Museum trainer was notable for ignoring │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ a trainer for Pole Position. The last two trainers of the month │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ for Army Men and Paperboy proved useful for those of us still │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ playing the games from last month. It seems that Crazy Nation │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ are feeling the pressure from other groups, which can only be │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ a good thing, lets hope for more activity, and hopefully some │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ cracks in the future. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░└──════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┘░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░ ░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░┌──═( THE CORPORATION )════════════════════════════════════════════──┐░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Rayman 2 USA/NTSC 256 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Ubi Soft 02/11/99 TC-RAY2.ZIP [ 6 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Ready 2 Rumble USA/NTSC 256 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Midway 10/11/99 TC-R2R.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Elmo's Number Journey USA/NTSC 64 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ New Kid Co. 12/11/99 TC-ELJ.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Elmo's Letter Adventure USA/NTSC 64 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ New Kid Co. 12/11/99 TC-ELA.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ NBA Showtime:NBA on NBC USA/NTSC 128 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Midway 17/11/99 TC-NBASH.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Rocket:Robot On Wheels USA/NTSC 96 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Sucker Punch 17/11/99 TC-RRW.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Resident Evil II USA/NTSC 512 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Capcom 17/11/99 TC-REV2.ZIP [bad!] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ NBA Live 2000 USA/NTSC 128 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Electronic Arts 18/11/99 TC-NBA2K.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ WWF Wrestlemania 2000 USA/NTSC 256 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ THQ 18/11/99 TC-WM2K.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Resident Evil II USA/NTSC 512 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Capcom 19/11/99 TC-RE2.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Turok: Rage Wars USA/NTSC 64 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Acclaim 19/11/99 TC-TURRW.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six USA/NTSC 128 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Red Storm/SouthPeak 19/11/99 TC-R6TC.ZIP [dupe] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Donkey Kong 64 USA/NTSC 256 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Nintendo/RARE 23/11/99 AGS-DK64.ZIP [bad!] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Chopper Attack USA/NTSC 128 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Seta / Midway 20/11/99 AGS-CHOP.ZIP [dupe] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Namco Museum 64 USA/NTSC 32 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Namco 21/11/99 TC-NAM64.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ [ 86 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Another good month for the corporation who carry on hovering │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ up all the US releases in sight. First release of the month is │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the American version of the excellent but frustrating Rayman 2, │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ which will allow the American among us to join in the annoying │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ platform action. Ready 2 Rumble proves to be a nice but boring │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ port from the original Dreamcast port from the PC. The │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Corporation manage to bring what could be two of the most │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ awaited games in the Nintendo 64's history, these being Elmo's │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Number Journey and Elmo's Letter Adventure, both of which will │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ no doubt be well received by the small children among us. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Completing the hat trick of basketball games this month is NBA │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Showtime:NBA on NBC and NBA Live 2000, and it's still a mystery │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to me why Nintendo seems to think we need 3 basketball games │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ in one month. Keeping up the unwanted release theme is WWF │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Wrestlemania 2000, yet another in a long line of 'restling │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ games that can only appeal to the mental subnormal who believe │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ that this sort of "sport" is real, and the homosexual who enjoy │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ watching big fat men grope each other. The massive and long │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ awaited Resident Evil 2 was finally released this month and The │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Corporation managed to release a working version two days after │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ their bad dump, but more of that later, the game proved to be │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ a very very nice port from the PSX original and a tribute to the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ power of Nintendo 64 and inventiveness of the programming team │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ that they managed to fit 2 Playstation CD's into a 512mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ cartridge. It was also nice to see the game running in hires, │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ and not the lowres block-o-vision the PSX version now seems to │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ be. Turok:Rage Wars seems to of caused a lot of confusion in │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ American with people thinking it was Turok 3, when in fact it's │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ a quick and easy multiplayer rip off of Turok 2... consider it │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ as a multiplayer only level add-on pack for Turok 2, as the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ single player mode is basically a waste of yours and your │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Nintendo 64's time. Final release of the month from The │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Corporation is Namco Museum 64 which is another quick and Easy │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ rip off, this time of the 6cd Playstation set of Namco classic │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ arcade games. Included in this collection are Pacman, Ms │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Pacman, Galaxians, Dig Dug and Pole Position, all fairly │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ accurate versions of the arcade originals and fun for a while │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ (if your a fan of the games) but a little pointless if you have │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ played MAME on your PC (or the n64 version which included all │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ these games bar Pole Position). │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ This month also marked a particularly bad month for releases │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ from The Corporation, Their initial release of Resident Evil 2 │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ contained only half the data from the original cartridge, │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ something that should of been plain from the fact that when │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ zipped the ROM was less than 256mbit. It took two days for the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ group to come up with a new correct dump, and strangely │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ contained the same .NFO/.DIZ and no mention of the fact that │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ original dump was corrupt. On some sites it was even uploaded │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ over writing the original bad release as it had the same │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ filename. Some people have accused The Corporation of trying │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to hide the fact that the original release was corrupt. The │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Corporation release of Donkey Kong 64 was also corrupt, this │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ caused a lot of people trying to find a crack for the game a │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ lot of wasted time, and was only proved to be a bad dump when │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Aggression released their new dump. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ A lot of people claimed that the excellent Rocket:Robot On │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Wheels was also a bad dump, when infact it seems that the data │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ on the original cartridge is corrupt, which is very annoying as │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the game is truly excellent, it's also quite an unusual that a │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ game manages to slip past Nintendo's quality control with such │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ problems, More controversy was generated over the dupe of Tom │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Clancy's Rainbow Six, on which topic you will find more │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ discussion in the introduction. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ While some people seem to want to attack The Corporation for │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the some of the things they do, it is worth remembering that they │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ have been releasing more games than most of the other groups │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ have managed. However the attitude that many of the groups │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ members portray, and the lack of testing that is becoming │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ apparent, devalues their achievements in releasing, many people │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ are now waiting for others to verify that a release is not │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ corrupt before they download. First game is the "uncut" version of last months │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ abysmal Carmageddon 64, it seems that last months release from │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ NIL was the PAL/Multilanguage release from Germany, and this │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ month is the PAL/Multilanguage release for the rest of Europe. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ in place of the dinosaurs and green blood from the "German" │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ release this one has very badly designed zombies and red blood. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Also from High Society this month is the PAL release of Super │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Smash Brothers, interesting to note that this version come on │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ a 256Mbit cart, where all of the previous releases were on │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ 128mbit carts. While the actual game data takes up much less │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ than the 256mbits on the cart. It seems that Nintendo are │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ having a lot of fun with their cartridge production line these │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ days. Rounding off the month from High Society is a crack for │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Super Smash Brothers, making High Society the first N64 group │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to produce a crack for it's own releases. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Interesting to note for those of us who pay attention to cart │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ ID's , NIL's "German" release of Carmageddon 64 had a X for the │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ country code, while this release has a Y.. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░└──════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┘░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░ ░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░┌──═( MENACE )═════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┐░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Star Wars:Shuggeki Rogue Chita JAP/NTSC 128 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Nintendo/LucasArts/Factor 5 20/11/99 MNC-SWRC.ZIP [ 6 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Morita Shogi 64 JAP/NTSC 64 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Seta 21/11/99 MNC-MOSH.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Yakouchuu II:Satsujin Kouru JAP/NTSC 256 Mbit │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Athena 22/11/99 MNC-YKC2.ZIP [ 8 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ --───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────--- │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ [ 22 ] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Another good month from Menace, who keep up the good work of │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ grinding down the MIA release list. First release from them is │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the excellent Star Wars:Shuggeki Rogue Chita, which is of course │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ the Japanese version of last years classic Rouge Squadron, │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ while the only change proved to be the addition of Japanese │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ subtitles it is a nice addition to the collection. The next │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ release from Menace proved to be the very interesting Morita │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Shogi 64, originally released during April 1998, many people │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ thought the cartridge to be undumpable due to it having a built │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ in modem to allow network play. The game infact proved to be │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ quite playable in the practise mode, and will maybe keep some │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ code hackers happy while they poke around in the code. Final │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ release from Menace this month, is the deeply Japanese and │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ very strange Yakouchuu II:Satsujin Kouru, which is a follow up │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ from the SNES original, and is totally unplayable unless you are │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ a fluent Japanese speaker/reader. Game of the month this month has to be the superlative │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ Rocket:Robot on Wheels, which despite being semi corrupt in one │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ level proved to be a very involving game which I spent many an │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ happy hour in front of. While it was a hard choice this month │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to pick the game of the month with Donkey Kong 64 also proving a │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ very addictive game, and Resident Evil 2 proving to be diverting │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ for those of us who had not already played the Playstation │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ original to death. I also enjoyed playing Toy Story 2 which │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ despite it's basic looking graphics and annoying music proved │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ to be entertaining, and strangely addictive. Also the excellent │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ fighter Fighting Cup Maniax is deserving of some consideration │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ for those of us wanting to expunge our violent streaks. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ While a lot of people have written off the Nintendo 64 as a │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ dead format, next month looks like it could be another excellent │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ month for releases in the lead upto Christmas, A large number │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ of Japanese titles are due to be released during December, lets │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ hope that one of the big groups can manage to bring them to us, │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ and lets hope that all the corrupt releases and dupes are now │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ behind us, and December will be a peaceful if slightly Hectic │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ month of all the groups in the scene. │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ As usual, if you have any comments or would like to point │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ out any mistakes, please drop me an email at [email protected] │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ RedboX │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ ([email protected]) │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░│ │░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░└──════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════──┘░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ ▌▓▒░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░░▒▓▐ @BEGIN_FILE_ID.DIZ ┌──── ▄▄▄▄▄ ▄▄▄ ▄▓█▀ ▀ ∙∙──[NOVEMBER 99]─┐ │ ▄▀▀▀ ▀▓▄ ▓██ ▄▓▀▀ | :▄▀ ▀▓█▌░░░ ▓█▄ ▀██▀ │ ■ ▓█▌░░░░▐▓▓ ▄▓██▄ Dextrose │ : ▐▓▓█ ░░ ▓█ ▄▓█ ▀▓█ presents : │ │ ▐▓███▌▄▄▀ ▄▓█▀ ▓█ │ │ ▀▀▀▀ ▓█▀ ▀▌ │ │ ▀ │ │ [· Dextrose Release Charts Issue #19 ·] │ : | └∙∙───────────────────────────────────────────' @END_FILE_ID.DIZ _ _ _ _ _ _ / \ ╖/(_____ sIMPLY tO gOOD fOR yOU! _____)\╖ / \ <- THE LOS ENDOS BULLETIN BOARD SYSTEM -> \ _____ _____ / ╖\( sIMPLY tO fAST for yOU! )/╖ \_ _ _ _ _ _/
