We have only tested this program on PCBoard but should work on other BBS programs. The process is quite simple...instead of telling the sender the transfer has completed successfully, this program sends a abort signal back to the sender telling it it has been aborted. This means that the received file is 100% error free. So far I have tested this program downloading ZIP and GIF files. With GIF files I ran GIFTEST.EXE to verify the integrity of the GIF and everything seems ok. Same goes with ZIP files PKUNZIP -t. Keep in mind, this program will only work downloading single files and not in batch download. With batch downloading, we wanted to send an ALT-F signal to the sender telling it the file has been cancelled...BUT no can do...can't think of way to insert the codes into the program. Well, we'll work out something else later on. The batch mode is all that I really need. Single mode will do the same except you don't have to sit in front of your computer waiting for the download to complete. The purpose of this program is NOT to ripoff any BBSes...well, other than those money-hungry BBSes. If you wish to use this program and not allowing the sysops to become suspicious, the best way is not to use it as often unless it's really neccessary. For me, I only use this on "the world's largest BBS" here in Toronto, downloading GIFs. If I ever get caught doing this, I can always give them a pretty good excuse saying.. "Hey dudes, I was just checking out the GIFs. I was using SHOWGIF.COM so that I can view while I download. I already have that file backed up...that's why I aborted it after viewing". Heh... ***** IMPORTANT TO SYSOPS ***** If any sysops wanting to prevent your users from using this program, all you need to do is to add a "-s" at the end of your PCBSZ.BAT (DSZ/GSZ send batch file for PCBoard).
