We need drugs, we | | need more sex, we need less study, we | | need less work, we need more money, we | | don't want wait anymore, we need more | | speed, we need fast wares, we need the | | zero day wares, we need leeching, we | | have no more time to upload warez or | | support boards for friendship, we only | | NEED, we don't want give anything out | | for free in this fucking world -mvk/5d | | | `---------------------------------------------------------------------------' I think these are the words that indirectly display the current status of the German modem scene.And i Say Modem Scene because of you go for the mailswawpping/coder/demoscene and so on then u find yourself in a totally different world. Look at the following things: ============================= -- During the last 2 years the amount of busts increased a lot (1992-94) -- The amount of (anti)propaganda textfiles increased ENORMOUSLY!(1991-94) -- More and more intriques appeared to happen in the scene. (1992-94) -- More and more boards were formatted/hacked/etc. (1990-92) There are so much factors that lead to these facts mentioned above. Since the HighSpeedStandard Modems were produced by cheap companies like Supra,Zyxel,Yoriko,Tornado etc a lot of young guys and unprofessional idiots entered the scene in a short period. Needless to say that the modem scene,which was once REALLY professional, friendshiplike and a HELL LOT CLEARER. For the young guys (aged 12-16) it is possible to Buy or get Freqs/Routings Cards or whatsoever coz the only thing they do all the day is going to school,coming home and getting in front of their computers in order to trade the shit out of hell.The phonebills are paid by their dads/moms and so it is possible to go out and act like one of the real great traders. By the time they get more and more influence due to the fact that they get into BIG groups as traders/sysops and that causes a big DEFECT in their brains... they get arrogant and superstitous. These Kiddies are one great problem the scene has got today! The other big problem is the amount of OLD kiddies,who like the anonymity behind their computers,and try to compense their complexes by beating shit out of other people and try to play the unknown mystic stranger. Jealousy & Arrogance are the big words behind this Big BIg Problem. Furthermore the Scene got more and more agressive... The Warez uploaded to a bbs have to be 0 day and they should come in masses also.That means at least 20megs ups per day and of course every single hour after the stuff was released is one hour to much. Today it is common to say that someone is a cool trader if he shuffles all the files released at one day in almost every bbs he knows. Quality is fucked by Quantity.. I mean ... in older days there weren't 100 fixes for a game or a utility. When a game is released it is not very clever to leech it and depack it coz at the very next day there is another 100percent version or fixes with these and those bugs/errors corrected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You may ask about the busts and why the number of BUSTS has increased ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sysops and Traders today sell an enormous account of abonnements to their users.The number is the abonnents costs the software companies too much money,money they use to keep the programmers programming. Due to the fact that it was common to go into a shop and buy the original if u liked the game the companies had the money they needed. (Greets to Qtx for their Slogan .. A program worth using is a program worth buying) But that also Changed ... I don't know anybody who still buys originals..including me too!! But i have about 60 or 70 originals i bought at my c64 and amiga times. You might say .. "Hell,I dont play a lot..why should I buy me a game???" Yes.you are right..but almost EVERYONE uses tools like opus,jrcomm,lha and all the tools you need in your hardisk and modem life :) (<lame pd smily!) You could also register this stuff to support the software industry... Companies cannot effort anymore the stuff they produce to be traded and sold to any dumbfuck in the whole wide world...as already mentioned.. they need money,and WE STEAL THAT MONEY!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phreaking -----------------This is another important aspect (inc... haha) why the modem scene got so fucking dangerous for each and every guy in the scene. I bet you don't believe All the Phonecompanies will tolerate you asslights abusing their services,do you?! Sooner or l8er another phreaker bites the dust,and then another,and another one .... They WILL get you,although their possibilities are still very small.... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hell , I REALLY DOn'T KNOW IF U GET IT!! A little dumbfuck would say : "Yeah!0Day is cool!Let's wank!" An Idealistic person says : "BACK TO THE ROOTS!" "Let's make it like it was 5 years ago!!!!!" An INTELLIGENT person says : "WOt the FucK!?Let's get outta here!" And why do YOU think so many of the old dudes just LEFT the amiga scene ???
