Your goal is to free all of the trapped Snoods by launching other Snoods at them. If you connect three or more Snoods, they will transport away. If that leaves any Snoods not connected to the top of the playfield, they will fall to safety. Don't take too long, though. Every Snood you launch increases the Danger Level. When the gauge fills up, the Snoods will shift downward. If the Snoods reach you, the game is over. Snood includes the following features: - Set your own pace! There is no time limit in Snood, so you can play as quickly or as patiently as you wish. - Simple controls! You only need the mouse to play. Move it left and right to aim your launcher, and click to launch your Snood. - Multiple difficulty settings! Pick the level that suits your skill, from Child to Evil, or try the Puzzle or Journey levels. - Registered users can even design their own custom difficulty settings and puzzles. Each difficulty level maintains its own high score list and statistics, too. Snood is a good game for children. The game is non-violent and non-confrontational, and children can play at their own pace. It develops several basic skills, including matching, calculation of angles, and simple strategic assessment and problem solving. It does not require reading, and the controls are very simple. The Child difficulty level is easy enough even for young children to enjoy (ages 2-3). Conversely, Snood is fun for older players, too. The oldest Snood player on record is 102 years old; if you beat that record, let us know! Minimum System Requirements To play Snood, you'll need the following: - An IBM PC or compatible (200 mHz or higher recommended) - Windows 95 or 98 or NT 4.0 (Windows 2000 and ME normally work also) - DirectX (6.0 or higher recommended; earlier versions will sometimes work) - A graphics card that is DirectX compatible - A sound card that is DirectX compatible (if sound is desired) - A mouse and keyboard - A monitor capable of at least 640x480 256 color (8 bit) display - higher resolutions and color depths are also supported New Features in Snood Version 3.5 for Windows! Special Game Level: Armageddon In Armageddon, you get a standard difficult level of Snoods, randomly arranged, with a fair number of Numbskull Snoods. There are several key differences in how the game plays, though: 1) The Danger level increases slowly constantly, even if you don.t shoot any Snoods. As the game progresses, and the Snoods drop down more rows, the rate at which the Danger Bar fills gets faster and faster. 2) When the Danger Bar fills up, the Snoods shift down, but instead of the brick wall at the top, you get another row of Snoods! 3) When the Snoods shift down, they also shift a bit to the left or right, rearranging their connections. This can lead to Snoods being disconnected from the top; if so, they'll drop down, but you don't get any score for this. The rearrangement can be a help or a hindrance depending on the situation. I hope you enjoy Armageddon . I find it frantic and fun, but it.s a bit more stressful than normal Snood! Play Time Manager: Sometimes you want to play Snood, but you don't want to play too long. The Play Time Manager lets you play for a set period, and then the program exits when the time is expired. Don't worry - you'll get to finish your current game. Panic Button/Boss Key: For you furtive workplace players out there, hit 'Y' to hide the Snood screen with a spreadsheet. Other improvements include new graphics and appearance, some bug fixes, a new font, and more puzzle levels from the Snood community.
