GODSFIX.EXE removes copy protection from GODS by the Bitmap Brothers. It only works for the VGA version. It modifies two files: GODS.EXE and INTROV.EXE. I recommend that you back these files up before running this program in case your version of Gods is different and the program fails. If the program does not work for you, simply restore the original GODS.EXE and INTROV.EXE, and everything will be back to the original state. GODSFIX.EXE must be run within the \GODS directory. Both files must have read/write access (no read-only attributes), since it is modifying these files. The program checks for the existence of GODS.EXE and INTROV.EXE in the default directory, and makes sure it has write access to them. GODSFIX.EXE will increase the number of bytes for INTROV.EXE since it is attaching code to defeat the copy protection. INTROV.EXE was compressed using PKLITE (an .EXE self-extraction compression program). In order for the code to be modified, the program must self-extract itself first. GODSFIX.EXE attaches code after the self-extraction routine which changes the few bytes which check for a valid protection code. In order to do this, the INTROV.EXE had to be expanded. After you run GODSFIX.EXE, you can remove it from the directory. (Or whatever you want to do.) GODSFIX.EXE is not meant to be used for piracy. It is only meant to be used by owners of Gods. (The dark red paper with black codes can be VERY annoying to read.) Since there is a chance that GODSFIX.EXE won't work for your version of Gods, you use it at your own risk. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF THE FILES GODS.EXE & INTROV.EXE IN CASE THE PROGRAM DOES NOT WORK. THESE ARE THE ONLY FILES GODSFIX.EXE MODIFIES. IF THE PROGRAM DOES NOT WORK, SIMPLY RESTORE THESE TWO FILES!!! Bitmap Brothers now has another game out that is similar to Gods. It is called MAGIC POCKETS. If you liked Gods, you should like Magic Pockets.
