ANARCHY ONLINE INTRO
====================
This intro is brought to you by Rex Deathstar. Two weeks
has passed since my last intro ASYLUM!. I guess you guys
didn't expect to hear from me again so soon...well...:)
My obsession with colors and plasma has always been
around since I started programming. But at that point
of time, I wasn't too sure about the mathematics of
plasma and smooth continuous colors. Until recently
I came upon a book about gravity waves, inside it
contained many strange and exotic equations, and
so I adopted one of them here. But the problem was that
the original equation dealt with real numbers (floating points)
and we all know that the PCs are not good at that unless
you have a maths coprocessor, which I don't think everyone
has it now. So I spent a great deal of time converting the
plasma generator to using fixed point integer maths. But
alas, the time taken to plot one is still quite long,
especially on a 386-33. But I think the result is still
worth the wait...
The color mixing technique where the two plasmas are drawn in
alternating pixels to produce a palette of >256 colors first
appeared in "UNREAL" from Future crew. Since then, many demos
have used it to produce some very interesting routines.
As for the text generator, the idea came from the assembly-93
intro 'ASM-93', also from Future crew.
Enough said, just hope you enjoy the intro and music!
---------------------------------------------
Intros I have released so far...:-
1. RAGEFIRE.ZIP (a replica of fire, adapted from 'fire', 386+ only)
2. REXINTRO.ZIP (Introduces myself, Rex Deathstar, as a new graphics
coder in the scene...386+ only, uses VangelisTracker
and supports SB,SBPro) BTW, ShellVT is real slow!
3. ICHIBAN!.ZIP (My first BBS AD intro, used to the routine in
RAGEFIRE, but used purple smoke palette, 386+ only)
4. ASYLUM!.ZIP (My second BBS AD intro, features 3D dots and a
starfield, with a particle system text generator.
386+ only)
5. ANARCHY.ZIP (My third BBS AD intro, features color-mixing
plasma and a MOD player. supports SB,SBPro.)
My next intro will feature a landscape flyby, hope to create
some warp disorientation! Watch for it!
