Proudly Presents
a cheat for Abandoned Places
Cheat by: Hare Krishna/FLT (yes, this one may actually work...)
Supplied by: Razor Blade/Razor 1911
Date: 10/18/92 (2 day)
Music: Robin Trower, "Bridge of Sighs"
Dinner: Tuna sandwich, Pringles, Coke Classic
Quick & Dirty: Basically, this cheat'll up your skills, health, and spell
points to a higher degree. It also does some other stuff that I really
don't know _what_ the hell it is... As an added bonus, though, the cheat's
reusable (but won't let you better your characters-it'll bring them back to
the preset cheat levels) _and_ it also automatically raises characters from
the dead. Worth the 10 second download?
Babbleonia: This cheat gives 199 spell points, 200 health, and between
26-30 on the attributes. It also gives 2000 of _something_, perhaps
endurance and current strength. I really can't tell you what, though.
Also in the process, it sets the armor class to -1, which seems to work
better than +1, but I'm really not sure why it does that (perhaps as an off-
shoot of your max health?) If I remember right, in the Bard's Tale series,
-1 was the highest... Anyways, to run this here cheat, unzip all of these
files into your \SAVE directory. If you're brand new to the game, load
it up with "Start", select your characters & name them as you wish.
Start playing the game, and hit Shift-Y until you see a small disk icon
at the bottom of the screen, about 1/3 of the way over. Click on that.
It'll ask you what saved game # you want to save as-choose between 0-9.
Remember which one you picked. Hit Shift-Y again until you see an X'd
out thingamabob, and click on that. Hit Y again to quit. Change into
the saved game directory (.\SAVE), and then type "Faircht #", where
the # is the number you picked for the saved game. It'll do it from there.
This cheat was only tested on the initial "cheap Wizardry hack", as Razor
put it, portion of the game. It _probably_ will work on other portions
of the game, but, as usual, make a backup of the file first. No guarantees-
after all, you probably got the game for maybe $.50 on your phone bill... :)
'If you can just get your mind together, then come across to me...
We'll hold hands and then we'll watch the sun rise,
from the bottom of the sea...
But, first - are you experienced?'
- Jimi Hendrix
